Subterrean Nids Undefeated at Warzone December RTT

 Another Mini blog because a - I only played 2 games thank to a bye and B - I only took pics of game 2 for some reason. 

Nids move up to Fight Drukari and try to work around the "if I move I charge you" nonsense they have.


Round 1  v Franco - Bye. I'd claim Franco was being a chicken and refusing to play me but given he had a Lord of Change/Fateweaver might view it as a compliment. Bye probably due to Xmas party shenanigans?



Round 2 v James's Drukari on terraform - Specticle of Spite is stupid and annoying. Combined with normal Drukari MSU nonsense realised just had to kinda run as fast as I could without ever moving anything in my movement phase within 9....which was a odd combination of things to try and do. Norn held a midfield objective all game, wracked up some primary and just about squeezed out Drukari 76-66 when most of my movement phases were "Hmmm, ok not moving."


Round 3 v WE - Horrible match up for WE. Teleported around, shot his stuff, ran him out of units and went in for the kill with my combat stuff. Outside of some pretty poor shooting phases went to plan and big win for Nids.


Came fourth out of 6 undefeated players given only 3 rounds and 47 players. Brother went 2-1 with space wolves beating Drukari/Blood Angels and slightly only slightly massively hugely v Pre Nerf Sisters.

 Beachhead has been one of my favourite tournaments for awhile now, I think its now the one I've been to most (4th time.) Partly its because its a nice venue which isn't tooo far with a lot on, partly its because the other events means I go down there with one of my brothers now who does blood bowl. My other brother was planning on coming but a second child being born the Monday before the event meant he felt he couldn't attend, which feels like prioritising the wrong thing. 15 Deathshroud strong DG go 4-1 at Winter ITT (696 player team tournament) as Mortarion fights himself...twice.

So my new years resolution was to try and use less Chaos armies at events and try and use some of the others I have. Apparently GW decided to go all Slaanesh and tempt me immediately with new TS, DG and EC codex's. So ok, less CSM this year which I managed at my first tournament which is totally because of the resolution and not because we also had a very good CSM main on the team and I had other options. Also don't come back to this blog in a week and see which army I chose for Beachhead with that resolution in mind, less CSM doesn't mean no CSM after on.  Word Eaters finest charge into Death Guards as they try to hold the line. So with CSM out the picture fell back on Death Guard. Had been running them as my second faction anyway with some success and having a combat focused army went well with our team - Byron on Daemons and Denis on Necrons will be familiar name/faction pairings to regular readers of the blog whilst Hristo joined with Nids and pairings expertise and Sam...

30 Scarab Terminators at the Warzone October RTT

 I might have been only person happy with the new TS points. They haven't really clicked with me this edition so far, they've been very strong but whenever I've dabbled I've wanted to go back to CSM and punch things in the face with Possessed, which is an experience TS tend not to offer (not helped but not owning any Vortex Beasts.) Combined with a very solved build quickly in both index, and a similar more goaty post Codex build they haven't really leapt out to me.  30 Scarabs taking a flank each and the middle prepare to advance into Plague Legion Editors note after initial posting - I misread the wording Implacable Guardians (I saw Rubricae Psyker rather than Rubrice Marines Pysker) and my Scarab Occult Terminators used this on I think 3 occasions over the event to get -1 damage from shooting incorrectly. I have left the times I used in photos below for posterity and apologise to my opponents for the error!  Still the balance dataslate did throw out a crumb along...
