AoS at Sunshine Coast Open with Alarith Lumineth
No full write up, more a photo dump from Sunshine Coast Open. Had played 1 Game of AoS this season so was very rusty and signed up and submitted a list without practicing (or indeed using Lumineth in over year) so went very silly and brought 3 big Cows as they would be easy to play and wouldn't matter about any time constraints. To super quickly summarise the games:
Round 1 - V Trogg Heavy Gloomspite Gitz - Took out a big Trogg Unit, Cows forced there way through the middle mostly unapposed after that whilst the doing a big dance away from another big unit as we traded flanks but I held middle for most of game. Won 65 - 37
Round 2 - V Flesh Eater Courts - Went second, got charged by essentially all FEC army out of reserve or from 2 Terrogists. Lost about half army before my turn, didn't hold primary once and conceded with just 2 Stoneguard v most of FEC army after turn 2. 80-5 loss with game done in under 50 mins!
Round 3 - v Monster Heavy Slyvaneth. Tough game v similar list with just so much more mobility on his side. Tried to force Slyvaneth to commit whilst I held middle then counter attack after they hit, but needed one big double turn and never got chance after key re-roll for priority when looked like might be able to send big damage into Slyvaneth. Eventually ground down as secondary became real issue - 60-44 loss.
Round 4 v Skaven - Big brawl in the middle, smashed them up pretty hard. They managed some strong late game scoring but the one game were rampages worked well and bullied them on the line. Strong win 47-38 that felt more comfortable than score suggests.
Round 5 v Dwarf only Cities of Sigmar. Tough game to finish - Gotrek made big charge and couldn't kill him back next turn throwing my entire army into him (in fact thanks to rally ended up with more health than started turn with.) Took a bad double on Paths of the Fey and Eltharion and a Spirit of Mountain spent 3 turns unable to move being forcibly teleported around and I couldn't even get any charges! Lost 63-46
Really fun event, want to get more AoS in at some point and try another tournament with some actual practice and a more sensible list! Finished 21/29, just about everyone I played seemed to win an award of some sort which was impressive. Photo dump of all the games below:
