Vampires at the Easter Bonnet Bash

Much less effort from me on this post than normal due to time constraints - but did want to include super quick roundup of my attendance of the excellent Easter Bonnet Bash. Took a Greedy Vampire list which was a lot of fun, but certainly needed couple of extra thralls and one less vampire! To super quickly summarise the games

1 - Played Halflings, chaotic game with lots of thrown players but a second half blitz from kick off turned a good position into a great one as I won 4-1.

2 - Vampire mirror match which was a real handful to try and play! Lost the Vargiest early and got ground into the dust for most of the match. Never in control conceding twice but scored a rather janky touchdown to make it 2-1. Pushed hard for equalizer really going aggressive, managed a turnover and had a turn 16 yolo play to draw - managing to get the chance to a 50/50 catch (and 2+ dodge/bloodlust) to steal a draw at the death but couldn't manage it.

3 - Played Lizardmen - put a lot of pressure on their drive getting the ball loose several times but couldn't secure it (or knock down the bloody Skink holding it despite throwing 10 dice at him, thankfully Strip ball was doing a lot of work) and they managed to score. Players down I couldn't stall my own push but did manage a score despite losing control of drive quickly in second half. Overtime score from Lizards however gave them a well deserved win, even if I ended up missing 2 potentially turns due to time constrains (out of players control.)

4 - Played Norse - after having kicked the ball away in every game so far as Vampires I elected to receive for a change to try and soften Norse up. Didn't go great - after 3 turns I had 5 players KO'd as my players forgot to bring armour and my Vargiest found the thralls easier pickings than the Norse. Norse ground me down and scored against the kick helped by a intercept as I went for a long distance play. Second half got messy - ball turned over constantly as Vampires kept pushing crazier players as Norse kept beating them down. Norse pushed hard for the score, getting very close to the line before I was able to turn ball over in turn 16, throw a near max distance pass with a 6 to a 'hey maybe it can happen' Vargiest who had gone up field who caught the pass and its Bloodlust roll to draw (wish I'd got a picture but had largely stopped at this stage, 4 games is a lot and was losing track of mental load at this point!)

Really fun event, loved the Easter theme even if did want to go better than 1-1-2 but the 2 losses were the players that ended up first and second!
